This project was carried out by Nick and his assistant, Matt. The decking and garden on this job needed to tie together three rooms of a newly renovated back extension.
The decking is blackbutt timber, an Australian hardwood, that was also used for the box-seating at kitchen window. The pergola was constructed of Cypress Macrocarpa; this lighter wood not only has a beautiful contrasting effect with the blackbutt decking, but is an excellent wood for its rot-resistant properties. Ornamental vines were planted to populate the pergola, which will have a more and more beautiful effect over time.
All timbers are finished and protected with Osmo Oil from Germany, the highest quality timber oil on the market using natural oils and waxes, so it’s safe and non-toxic.
